Officers updated August 2023
Co Presidents:
Sue Maddock joins the Friends board after a career of teaching high school mathematics and computer science. Her introduction to the Library was with her children through story hour, all seated on the floor in the old Library building as we listened to stories both magical and real. Jim and Jenna and Sue have loved the Library - the selection, the events and programming, the community - ever since those first days of making wizard’s hats, measuring mast trees on the road, and reader’s theater presented by the older kids. The Randolph Library is a magical place!
Catherine Zirpolo has been a lifelong banker and upon retirement, came here to Randolph. She and her husband have lived here full-time since 2014. Catherine has been a volunteer at the Library for the past three years. Moving frequently as a child, books and libraries became her friends and her saving grace, and after all these years they have never failed her.
Secretary:
Kayla Demers, a homegrown Randolphian who has long benefited from the efforts of the Randolph Public Library, is excited to serve and help support this invaluable resource! While Kayla has been more of a visitor than a permanent resident in recent years, she fondly recalls her time at Children’s Story Hours in the ‘90s and her 'escapes' from teenage chores with each new page-turner from the library. Currently working at Samsung in Product Marketing, Kayla is based out of New Jersey but will always call Randolph, this little nook of the world, ‘home.’ Kayla is a huge fan of historical fiction (particularly WWII-era romance/action), though she can be pulled away for a sprinkling of both classic novels and contemporary non-fiction.
Treasurer:
Michele Cormier, a long-time Randolph resident, currently serves on the Board of Selectmen. Thanks to her previous experience forming the Friends group in Twin Mountain, Michele helped bring the original Friends of the Randolph Public Library into existence.
Board Member At Large:
Liz Johnson has been a summer visitor to Randolph for nearly 40 years and became a permanent resident 2 years ago. Liz believes that libraries and natural landscapes are not only essential for healthy communities but can also make a major difference in individual lives. Liz is an avid gardener, reader, and enjoys cooking and exploring the quaint towns of the north country. She is excited to be a Friend and supporter of the Randolph Public Library.
